Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism in Child is a test for the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in children who show delayed language development, poor eye contact or lack of development of social communication skills.
ISAA was devised with the aim of quantifying the severity of Autistic symptoms so as to enable measurement of associated disability. This was the first Indian scale to diagnose for major Autism. This has 40 items divided in 6 domains -
The items are rated from 1 to 5, increase in score indicates increasing severity of the problem. It takes around 15-20 mins to complete the test.
We use AIMS version of INCLEN. It is a questionnaire based assesment which is scored age wise. The questions are supplemented by observation of the child. It takes around 30 mins for completing the test. This test is also daignostic for other childhood disintegrative disorders.
